Message from President
It was on the 30th of December 1985 that the Northern India Steamer Agents Association (NISAA) came in to existence and has completed 35 successful years. Mid 1980s was also the time when containerised trade came to North India and the first ICD was set up at Pragathi Maidan, which was later permanently shifted to ICD Tuglakabad.
Since then, NISAA has played an instrumental role in furthering the containerised trade from North India and has stood as a key player in dealing with the issues and challenges that rose with the increasing trade volumes.
NISAA’s main objective is to work closely with various authorities involved in the EXIM Trade including Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Commerce,Container Train Operators, Customs, CFS/ ICDs and various terminals, for the betterment of the EXIM traffic, which effects various member lines and the trade in general. NISAA is a non-commercial institution for the facilitation of EXIM Trade.
Northern India Steamer Agents Association has been actively working for the cause of the Shipping Agencies and allied industries. NISAA works closely with government departments, trade bodies and partners to enhance the containerized movements of exports and imports. It has represented many a burning issue of the trade to the concerned government departments and has sought solutions.
It is with this spirit of optimism that NISAA moves forward in aggressively solving issues of the fellow member shipping agents and the trade in general. We look forward to playing a decisive role in helping the government in policy formulation that benefits not only the members of NISAA but also in increasing the overall containerized trade from North India.
