About Us

The Northern India Steamer Agents Association or NISAA, as we are more commonly known, was formed on the 30th of December 1985.

We're a Non Commercial Institution

NISAA’s main objective is to work closely with the various authorities involved in the EXIM Trade – Ministry of Shipping, Container Train Operators, Customs, CFS/ ICDs and various Terminals, for the betterment of the EXIM traffic to and from the Northern India ICD’s, which effects various Member Lines and the Trade in general.

Our Mission

Containerized EXIM Trade was on the rise and with the growth in traffic and development of new Inland Container Depots (ICD’s), associated problems were being faced by the Industry.

NISAA will promote the interests of its members and will work closely with the various authorities for the benefit of its members.

NISAA will work closely with other trade Associations in order to take a holistic approach for the betterment of the industry.

NISAA will work closely with concerned Government agencies to implement various policies announced by the Government.

To be an observatory body for the improvement of quality and ease of business amongst all partners in the trade, to safeguard the interests of all members for the benefit of the shipping Industry as a whole.

Uniform
Approach

We maintain as far as possible a uniform approach to all problems affecting shipping in Northern India.

Statistics
Management

We collect, circulate and collate information relating to ports, container depots and freight stations.

Delegate
Nomination

We nominate delegates and advisers to represent the shipping interests at various conference in India and abroad.

Safeguarding
Interests

We take necessary steps for the growth, development and safeguarding of shipping interest.

Effective
Communication

We communicate with commercial and public bodies to promote measures beneficial to Shipping interests.

Knowledge
Sharing

We organize conferences, lectures and study tours to extend knowledge and information to members.
